We’re excited to announce the launch of the 2017 Community Energy Congress.

What: The premier event on Australia’s community energy calendar, the Community Energy Congress 2017 will bring together over 500 people to strengthen this budding sector. Together we will share information, develop skills, foster new networks, celebrate success and plan for action.

With side events on Sunday 26 and Wednesday 1 March.

Who: Congress 2017 aims to inspire a host of community energy advocates, from the experts who pioneered the sector, to those who are just starting their foray into the community energy space.

Congress 2017 is also for organisations looking to partner with and support community energy, including renewable energy developers, policy makers, network companies, retailers, councils, NGOs, regulators, lawyers, financiers and more.

International Keynote – Søren Hermansen

We’re excited to announce future thinker and community energy gløbal leader Søren Hermansen as our first keynote speaker.

Søren is from the award winning Energy Academy on Samso Island in Denmark and author of “Commonity = Common + Community” a book about modern commons and how to understand them.

In 2007, Samso island became the world’s first 100% renewable island. In 2008 Søren was recognised as Time Magazine’s Hero of the Environment.
