Thanks to everyone who made submissions to the Senate Enquiry and particular thanks to Rewiring Australia for encouraging communities around Australia to offer their experiences on residential electrification.
The Coalition for Community Energy’s submission was one of 231 contributions.We made four main recommendations:
- Commit to a 100% renewable homes target.
- Support community-led versions of residential electrification programs.
- Support high utilisation of the low voltage and distribution level grid for residential
electrification, flexible use of renewable electricity, topped up with mid-scale community energy projects. - Commit to long term programs and provide consistency across grant opportunities
to enable communities to better plan and realise projects.
